Spelling & Grammar Support

Course overview image

Spelling and grammar can often feel like the biggest hurdles for students with dyslexia. Writing assignments may take extra time, errors can pile up quickly, and constant corrections may lower self-esteem. This course focuses on how AI-powered writing assistants can help learners overcome these challenges with patience, clarity, and encouragement. In this module, students will explore AI tools that not only detect spelling mistakes but also explain the corrections in simple terms. Instead of just marking words as “wrong,” these tools act like friendly tutors, guiding learners toward the right answer. For example, if a student writes recieve instead of receive, the tool not only fixes it but can highlight the rule behind “i before e.” This way, every mistake becomes a chance to learn, not a setback. We’ll also cover grammar correction, where AI tools reframe sentences for better flow and clarity. Learners can see side-by-side comparisons between their original sentence and the AI suggestion, making it easier to spot patterns and understand improvements. These tools reduce stress during essay writing, assignments, or even everyday communication like emails. Another feature we’ll explore is predictive text and autocorrect, which helps students write faster without worrying about every letter. Combined with supportive feedback, learners can focus more on expressing their ideas rather than fearing red marks on a page. By the end of this module, students will view spelling and grammar not as constant obstacles but as skills that can improve with practice and the right tools. With AI acting as a safety net, learners will feel empowered to write with confidence, creativity, and independence.
