For students with dyslexia, reading long or complicated passages can feel like climbing a steep mountain. Sentences may be too long, words too advanced, or the structure too confusing. As a result, students often lose focus and feel discouraged before even reaching the end of a page. This course introduces the powerful role of AI-driven text simplification, a tool designed to make reading more approachable while keeping the meaning intact. Throughout this module, students will learn how AI takes challenging text and breaks it into shorter, clearer sentences. Difficult vocabulary is replaced with simpler words, while the main ideas remain unchanged. This way, learners can follow along without feeling overwhelmed. Instead of being left out of group discussions or struggling with textbooks, students will gain access to the same material as their peers, just in a form that’s easier to process. We’ll also explore how simplified text can be paired with audio narration, giving learners two channels of understanding—hearing and reading at the same time. Students will practice comparing the original text with the simplified version to see how AI transforms complexity into clarity. Teachers and parents can also benefit, since they can share simplified resources that reduce frustration and boost engagement. An important part of this course is helping learners personalize their reading experience. Every student is different: some may prefer very short sentences, while others only need slight adjustments. With AI tools, students can choose the level of simplification that works best for them. By the end of this course, learners will feel more confident approaching reading tasks, knowing that complexity no longer has to be a barrier. Instead of fearing long passages, they’ll see them as opportunities—because with AI’s help, difficult text can always be made accessible.
